Jamies Oliver’s latest recipe book is called Jamie’s America, following his trip across the states in 2009. There was also a TV show called Jamie’s American Roadtrip based on the same trip.
Jamie used this trip to explore places, ingredients, food culture and traditions of the USA. He said he”went looking for ‘quintessential American food’, my conclusion is that there is no such thing; instead there’s a huge wealth of seriously exciting dishes.”
After the trip, he said that he “found what I was looking for: some of the most diverse and delicious recipes I’ve ever come across”. There are 120 of these recipes in this book, with stories about his adventures and some of the characters he met along the way.

His parents own a pub, the Cricketer’s in Clavering, Essex, which has long prided itself on the quality of its food.
He left school with no qualifications, and studied at Westminster Catering College before working as a pastry chef at Antonio Carluccio’s restaurant in London.
His partner is ‘Jools’, who featured too on his first series. They are now married and have two children.
He is now making a name for himslef as a hard-hitting campaigner – he has tackled school canteens and battery hens.
His cookbooks sell millions a year. He runs a restuarant ‘Fifteen’, a staffed by disadvantaged teenagers trained by Oliver himself and featured on his TV show Jamie’s Kitchen.
